1.0.2

Another update! I think after the next one I will be satisfied with saying that the game's "finished". Will it be that much different than the original jam version? Not really- the game in its jam state was already pretty much finished- but it'll be polished up enough for me to feel satisfied with it. So, here's the main things that were changed in this update:

  • Adjusted the animation timing to be faster but still satisfying and not feel sped-up as a slow animation speed was a complaint in the jam version. This actually took me a while because I kept adjusting all of the animations by milliseconds, trying to see what felt the best.
  • Animation Speed Slider. If the new animation speed still isn't to a user's liking, there's a slider to adjust it in the menu now.
  • Controller Vibration can now be turned off and on in settings. No one complained about this, I just felt like it was needed
  • PS4 Controller Support. Because there are in-game graphics which refer to specific buttons, I couldn't replace references to "B Button" with "Circle Button" so easily, so I just included a small blurb about it in the notice before the game. I don't actually own a PS4 controller so there was no way to test it.

There were also some smaller changes, such as...

  • During the B Minigame, bullets are now destroyed when bullets hit moving enemies. This may not have needed to be added because this minigame was already not super difficult (nobody had an issue with it), but I can imagine a player's first time with this minigame and how they might assume bullets can't go through the moving enemies.
  • Tweens now reset when the Y minigame is over. Looks better.
  • Added bullet noises into B minigame.
  • Removed overlapping sound effects in Right Stick minigame.
  • When adjusting music slider in the menu, the main menu music now actually follows the slider while it's being moved..
  • Slight screen shake when enemy or player is hit. This actually adds a lot to the feel!

So that's about it! Next update's main addition will be the ability to adjust settings while using a controller. This might take a bit, so I didn't put it in this update. Other than that, I'll just be playtesting and adding anything that I feel is missing.

Thank you,

Cell-Talk :)
